With a wide range of power contactors for switching motors, we can cover many different applications - up to 250 kW. In sizes S00 to S12, in addition to 3-pole standard contactors, there are also vacuum contactors, coupling relays for optimal interfacing with the outputs of controllers, and various different 4-pole power relays and miniature contactors for the performance range up to 4 kW. The new 3RT2 contactors in sizes S00 and S0 are particularly flexible. Apart from screw-type connections, the devices are also available throughout with spring-loaded and ring cable lug connections. The auxiliary switches for S00 and S0 can be installed for any sizes. A UC version can be controlled using either AC or DC voltage and simultaneously features much lower power consumption of the coils. Two auxiliary switches are already integrated in the contactors of size S0 which offer even higher contact reliability.
A special highlight: Contactors in size S00 or S0 can be used to configure reversing or star-delta (wye-delta) starters simply by plugging in function modules. These can also be equipped with an AS-i or IO-Link interface as an option, which significantly reduces the control circuit wiring.
As regards safety engineering, contactors of the 3RT2 series also offer some new features: Using the Safety connector, safety related solutions can be configured to PLe according to ISO13949-1 or SIL3 according to IEC62061 – simply plug the Safety connector into the contactors and a redundant contactor assembly is wired up already.
Pre-Assembled and Tested Contactor Assemblies
In addition to a wide range of individual components that you can assemble yourself easily, quickly and reliably and interlock mechanically and electrically, we offer you pre-assembled contactor assemblies - with AC and DC coils.
The contactor assemblies are completely assembled, tested and designed for optimally combining with other components of the modular SIRIUS system, such as circuit breakers, overload relays, current monitoring relays, etc. This reduces the time and costs for engineering, assembly and wiring.
For greater application flexibility, these assemblies are also available in sizes S00 and S0 with spring-loaded connections throughout.
Self-assembly, never easier!
Apart from the pre-assembled devices, contactor assemblies can also be created by the user. In sizes S0 and S00, there is a special feature that makes assembly possible almost without the need for wiring: Using the appropriate, plug-in function modules for fitting to contactors which include timer functions or even electrical interlocks, reversing assemblies or star-delta (wye-delta) assemblies, for example, can be implemented quickly and easily - without the need for additional control wiring, protective circuit or prioritization circuit.
Apart from the pre-assembled assemblies, contactor assemblies can also be created by the user from individual devices. In combination with the contactors of the new 3RT2 series, this is particularly easy: Whereas, for the main circuit, wiring kits are available for both screw-type terminal and spring-loaded terminal devices, function modules that can be plugged into the contactors revolutionize the control circuit: In this manner, timer functions, direct, reversing and star-delta (wye-delta) starter functions are configured quickly and easily without the need for tools - without any additional control wiring or protective circuit because the contactors are already included.

Our single-phase 3RT23 AC contactors can now be used, for example, for switching heating circuits up to 50 A with a mounting width of just 45 mm.
We offer the 4-pole 3RT25 contactor for implementation in crane motors or as braking protection.
Our coupling relays up to 15 kW, with their power-optimized coils, can be directly controlled by the PLC.
The new 3RT2 contactor series is available for your main and auxiliary circuits with screw terminals, spring-loaded terminals or ring terminals.

Contactor relays are switching devices for control and auxiliary circuits and are used to control, provide signals and interlock switching devices and switchgear panels. It goes without saying that the 3RH1 SIRIUS contactor relays have connection designations in compliance with the standard and use a connection system which is both time and cost saving – fulfilling the requirements from the field. The 3RH1 contactor relays and the size S00 motor contactors are the same size and have the same optical design; this represents a significant advantage, especially when it comes to accessories.
They are designed for AC or DC operation and are available with screw or spring-loaded technology. The basic version of the contactor relays has 4 poles but this can be extended up to 8 poles using auxiliary contact blocks which can be snapped-on.
The SIRIUS coupling relays to switch motors and auxiliary and control circuits have been especially designed to operate with electronic control systems.
The contactors distinguish themselves as a result of their low power drain and the wide operating range of the solenoids.
The high contact reliability of the auxiliary contacts guarantees that there are no fault signals – even at low switching powers.
Sensitive output stages are protected against switching overvoltages of the coil using an interated sure suppressor.
For electrical isolation, amplification and signal conditioning between the open-loop control and I/O, we offer a varied selection of coupling technology. Whatever your requirements, we have the right device - semiconductor coupling relays for extremely high switching frequency, coupling links in industrial enclosures for all voltages/wide-voltage range or a coupling relay with a plug-in relay which is available both as a complete unit and as a single module for user assembly.
What all our coupling relays have in common: They are all of a narrow design and are easy to connect on one level.
A key feature of this product is its high switching capacity and long service life. 4 NO contacts or 3 NO contacts + 1 NC contact are available as contact complements.
The advantages at a glance
Function Modules for Direct, Reversing and Star-Delta (Wye-Delta) Starters
Function modules are available that are simply plugged in to the contactors of the new 3RT2 generation in sizes S00 and S0 which reduces the control circuit wiring when assembling direct, reversing and star-delta (wye-delta) starters. In this manner, contactor assemblies of these sizes can be implemented quickly, easily and, in particular, reliably.
Function modules for direct starting (timing relay) support time-delayed opening/closing of the underlying contactor and feature a large wide-voltage range; the mechanical and electrical interlocking is integrated for a reversing starter assembly. If a star-delta (wye-delta) assembly is implemented using function modules instead of complex wiring, you benefit not only from a 70% reduction in wiring in the control circuit, but also from the smaller footprint, because the star-delta (wye-delta) timing relay and the coil protection circuit are already integrated.
Function Modules for Interfacing to the PLC
The above-mentioned function modules with starter functions are also available with interfaces for AS-Interface or IO-Link. In addition to the reduction in wiring within the branches, interfacing to the higher-level PLCs can be considerably simplified. The complex control circuit wiring to the PLC can be almost completely omitted, and on the PLC itself, minimal space is required for input and output modules.
Thanks to seamless integration in STEP 7 of the redesigned SIRIUS components, the data is available centrally in the PLC and can be read out easily. This supports plant-wide diagnosis through to the last component of the field level.
The operating data of the load feeders, such as the ready signal, ON/OFF and group warning/fault, can be easily transferred via AS-i or IO-Link. Programming of the individual branches is considerably simplified, because all types of starter can always be addressed with the same input/output profile.
Diagnostic messages such as "Manual mode local", "End position CW/CCW", "Auxiliary voltage or main voltage missing" can also be transferred directly to the PLC, or a device fault can be transferred via IO-Link.
Errors are immediately localized and provided as a plain text display at a central point or on local displays - so that they can be rectified quickly.
All function modules can be used with any size (S00/S0) and are available with screw-type and spring-loaded connection.
The 3RR2 current monitoring relays can be directly mounted on the load feeder similar to overload relays. Even when they are primarily intended to monitor the motor current, the focus is on protection of the application. Thanks to monitoring of overcurrent, undercurrent, wire break or phase failure, V-belt tear or a stalled conveyor can be quickly detected and signaled. Thanks to direct fitting to the contactor, there is no need for additional wiring in the main circuit.
The current monitoring relays with screw-type or spring-loaded connections are available in two versions with graded functionality: A 2-phase basic version (parameterized via the potentiometer) and a 3-phase standard version (parameterized via the display). For the standard version, residual current monitoring, phase sequence monitoring and stall monitoring as well as restart delays, can be parameterized. The device also features a digital output that issues a warning signal before tripping. All diagnostic messages are simply displayed on the display of the device.
Thanks to the wide range of the control supply voltage from 24 to 240 V, and only two versions through to 40 A, a large number of different types of application are covered by a small number of variants of the SIRIUS 3RR2 current monitoring relay. For installation as a single unit, the single-unit adapter is available that is familiar from the overload relay.
